Thursday 3 September 2026 | Hatfield Park, Old Palace

An exclusive, invitation only event for cultural heritage professionals to meet and discuss challenges, opportunities and the latest digitisation developments in the sector. All in the beautiful surroundings of Hatfield House, just 22 minutes by train from London Kings Cross station.

Genus is proud to host the Cultural Heritage Digitisation Forum for invited delegates because the sector has been lacking a space for digitisation and technology issues to be openly discussed, and for networking between institutions to take place in a collegiate environment.

The event will be free to attend for all invited delegates.

Highlights of the day will include:

  • Industry specialist talks on topics including the latest imaging standards, 3D digitisation, and the impact of AI on the sector
  • Presentations about innovative and creative solutions to challenging digitisation projects
  • Round table sessions discussing current challenges and opportunities in the sector
  • Demonstrations of selected professional digitisation equipment
  • Format and content of the day to be driven by what delegates tell us they would like to discuss when they register

The Digitisation Forum will take place in the historic surroundings of the Banqueting Hall in the Old Palace in Hatfield house where Elizabeth 1st spent much of her childhood. The Old Palace was built around 1485 by the Bishop of Ely and was bought by Henry VIII in 1538 to be used as a nursery for his children; Mary, Elizabeth, and Edward.

Invited delegates will spend the day in the Old Palace with tea, coffee, refreshments and a delicious lunch provided. During the lunch period groups of 20 will be conducted on guided tours of the main Hatfield House, a magnificent Jacobean country house built in 1611 by Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury.

After you have let us know if you will attend, we will be back in touch to ask you what your most pressing technical challenges are and what you would most like to hear about on the day. We will then tailor the day to best fit the topics that the majority of delegates would like to discuss.
